Going Global Service Learning: Ghana 2016

Program Overview

The Going Global Service Learning pilot program is an opportunity for 4-H Canada youth ages 18-25 to travel to Ghana in the summer of 2016. There, they will participate in community development initiatives through local 4-H programs and contribute to a world class service learning experience.

The Going Global Service Learning pilot program goes a step beyond local community engagement and creates a platform for delegates to make meaningful contributions to a community development project in an international context.

Pilot Partner: 4-H Ghana

Located in the Eastern region of the country, 4-H Ghana is a youth development organization empowering Ghanaian youth through active engagement on topical issues that affect their development. 4-H Ghana was established in 2000 with focus on agriculture, leadership, life skills and other livelihood skills. As a member of the African 4-H Network and Global Clover Network, Ghana has taken the lead role in spearheading Enterprise Garden Projects in Africa. This project model is desired to prepare the young people of today to become the farmers and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
