4-H Canada’s Healthy Living Initiative is a series of resources and activities available to 4-H’s 8,700 volunteer leaders, 23,500 youth members and their families, as well as youth and families beyond 4-H to support their health and well-being. Learn more about the Healthy Living Initiative.

About this focus area

Resources in this focus area will allow youth and leaders to achieve a state of well-being where they are able to reach their own potential and make positive contributions to their community.

Tip sheets

Ten tip sheets with important and usable information related to this focus area are available for downloading and printing. Five tip sheets are geared towards volunteer leaders and five are geared towards youth members.

Activity guide for leaders

The activity guide for this focus area will assist volunteer leaders in using these resources by offering recommendations on how to tie their topics into club meetings and create learning opportunities for members.

4-H Canada has partnered with Kids Help Phone to develop these mental health resources. See the list of sources used to build these resources.

Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7, national support service. They offer professional counselling, information and referrals and volunteer-led, text-based support to young people in both English and French. Learn more and access more resources at KidsHelpPhone.ca.
