4-H Canada’s new Healthy Living Initiative provides the tools and resources to its 7,600 volunteer leaders to support the well-being of 24,000 4-H members. Learn more about the Healthy Living Initiative.

About this focus area

Resources in this focus area will allow youth and leaders to achieve a state of well-being where they are able to reach their own potential and make positive contributions to their community.

Tip sheets

Ten tip sheets with important and usable information related to this focus area are available for downloading and printing. Five tip sheets are geared towards volunteer leaders and five are geared towards youth members.

Activity guide

The activity guide for this focus area will assist volunteer leaders in using these resources by offering recommendations on how to tie their topics into club meetings and create learning opportunities for members.

The activity guide will be available in late May 2019.

Webinar

4-H Canada will host an online webinar on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 7 pm ET to assist leaders in using the resources and provide an opportunity to ask questions. If you are unable to attend, a PowerPoint presentation and recording from the webinar will be made available on this page following the webinar event.

4-H Canada has partnered with Kids Help Phone to develop these mental health resources.

Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7, national support service. They offer professional counselling, information and referrals and volunteer-led, text-based support to young people in both English and French. Learn more and access more resources at KidsHelpPhone.ca.
