There is something truly special about what we do at 4-H. Not only do youth “learn to do by
doing,” through hands-on skills like showing animals, writing a speech, or other creative
projects, but they also develop many other human skills that they carry with them for a lifetime.
Our programs allow youth to develop their ability to think critically, work in teams, and
communicate effectively - all supported by caring volunteer leaders. As a result, 4-H youth
become resilient community leaders who are empathetic, thoughtful, and resourceful.
We know our impact lasts well beyond the active 4-H years, which is why we spent the past
year focused on building resiliency, community, and strength at 4-H Canada.
This year was dedicated to the future of the organization, while continuing to strengthen our
foundation. The product of these efforts is reflected in our new strategic plan, that focuses on
collaboration, fund development, relevancy, and effectiveness. It is reflected in our choice of
Chief Executive Officer to guide the organization into the future. It is reflected in our mission - to
serve the 4-H movement in Canada – representing our commitment to work hand-in-hand with
the provinces towards a shared goal of strengthening the 4-H movement in Canada.
When we complete our strategic plan at the end of 2028, we will have confidently revised our
programming, deepened our impact, increased our engagement amongst partners, and
diversified our revenue streams.
The strength of the 4-H movement in Canada comes from its community. There are decades of
members, volunteers, partners, and alumni who stand beside the organization and contribute to
the fabric of a resilient movement that supports positive youth development and leadership.
Thank you to each and every one of you!
Together, we will continue to build and inspire the next generation of young leaders.
The Youth Advisory Committee is made up of outstanding 4-H youth members who want to continue to play a role in, and contribute to, the growth of the 4-H movement in Canada. YAC members represent 4-H Canada at events and conferences and help drive the policy development and decision making of 4-H Canada. The Youth Advisory Committee meets regularly to make recommendations to 4-H Canada on programming, marketing, and communications, as well as policy development.

“Joining the Youth Advisory Committee felt like a natural next step in my 4-H journey. I wanted to give back to the organization that played such a defining role in shaping who I am today. Being part of YAC has meant having a seat at the table where real conversations and meaningful governance decisions happen and recognizing that youth voices truly matter at that level. What has stood out most is working alongside individuals who care so deeply about 4-H and carry that passion into every discussion. Being part of a group so committed to the future of this program is something I will always value.” ~ Olivia Taylor
“Serving on the 4-H Canada Youth Advisory Committee has challenged me to think bigger than myself and to lead with intention. Through YAC, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of governance, strategic decision making, and how youth voices can shape national programming. 4-H has played a major role in building my confidence and helping me see a clear connection between the leadership skills I’ve gained and my future career ambitions. Being part of YAC has strengthened my abilities and connected me with an inspiring network of peers and mentors across Canada. This is an exciting time for 4-H Canada and for 4-H across the country with the introduction of our new strategic plan and CEO. I look forward to continuing to be part of the growth and impact ahead.” ~ Davis Gottenbos

The 4-H movement in Canada would not be possible without the committed group of national partners and donors who invest in our mission of empowering youth to become responsible, caring, and contributing leaders who effect positive change in the world around them.

For more than a decade, FCC has supported clubs from across Canada with the FCC 4-H Club Fund. Through this long-standing, annual program, clubs are able to support shared priorities, growth and increased engagement of the 4-H movement in Canada. These funds are available to all 4-H clubs, districts and regions across Canada.

In partnership with Syngenta Canada, the AgriFood Challenge returned for a third year to provide an opportunity for youth leaders to think critically about sustainable agriculture and food security at the community level. Members were encouraged to reflect on existing Syngenta Canada activities, such as Proud to Bee a 4-Her, Dig into Soil, and Food for Thought, to learn more about sustainable agriculture and food security. They were then challenged with taking their knowledge and applying it to their own projects that promotes sustainable agriculture or food security in their community.
As part of the AgriFood Challenge, the Balmoral 4-H Club dove into the world of pollinators with a special beekeeper presentation.
Members of the Kensington 4-H Club chose to take on another AgriFood Challenge, this time focused on reducing food waste and supporting local food security.

The aim of Citizenship Congress was to enable delegates to put into practice the skills and knowledge they acquired, transforming them into responsible, caring, and contributing members and citizens within their local communities. Through hands-on learning experiences, delegates engaged with one another, parliamentarians, Knowledge Keepers, and business leaders, all set against the backdrop of the nation’s capital.
The 2025 Citizenship Congress theme, Your Community, Your Voice, Your Impact, invited delegates to see themselves as part of something bigger. From their club to the global community, 4-H members explored how collaboration, civic engagement, and leadership created a lasting impact.
"Citizenship Congress is one of the best 4-H experiences out there, and I've been to almost all there is to offer. Fantastic opportunity to grow leadership, speaking, and debate skills while learning about Canadian Parliament and civic duty."
"A fun experience for me. It brought out my best leadership skills and allowed me to work with others from all across the country."
Senior 4-H members from across Canada met with Senator Rob Black in the Senate as part of their Citizenship Congress 2025 experience.

Last summer, we hosted a series of consultations to help shape the development of the Strategic Plan. These sessions brought together members, partners, volunteers, and stakeholders from across the country to share their perspectives, priorities, and ideas for the future.
The feedback gathered played a key role in identifying what matters most to our community and helped ensure the Strategic Plan reflects both current needs and long-term aspirations.
Every November 4-H members, leaders, alumni, and supporters alike don their 4-H green and come together to spread awareness of 4-H and support the positive impacts the 4-H program is making in Canada and abroad. This celebration highlights the incredible things 4-H youth are doing in their communities and how the 4-H program is creating responsible, caring, and contributing young leaders.
This year, we celebrated Show Your 4-H Colours by inviting members, leaders, alumni, and staff from across the country to share meaningful 4-H memorabilia from past and present that reflects their unique 4-H journey and what the movement means to them.
As usual, communities across Canada supported our celebration by lighting up well-known community landmarks in green as part of the festivities.
The 93rd annual 4-H Canada Members Forum took place in Calgary, Alberta from November 29 - December 4, 2025. This annual gathering of 4-H members from across Canada was an opportunity for youth to build their 4-H network and engage with fellow 4-H'ers. Members built skills in career and life readiness as well as healthy living, networked with career professionals, engaged in hands-on learning opportunities, and shared their thoughts and insights on issues important to Canadian youth and 4-H members.
The theme for Members Forum 2025 was, "Accelerate Your future"
"It was such a great opportunity to meet other community minded youth from across the country and expand my network. I learned so much about networking and life skills, and it meant a lot to me being able to grow such important skills for the future. I am unbelievably thankful for this opportunity, and would love to be able to attend a future members conference."
"Members Forum is so much fun, an amazing experience and it is so cool to get to know all the 4-H members from across the country. The skills learned and experience gained is absolutely incredible. It really accelerated my future."
"Members Forum helped shape me into the young adult I am today. There is just something life-changing about this amazing opportunity."

4-H Canada supported the launch of Agents of STEM, a free, hands-on educational resource designed to introduce youth to the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Using 4-H Canada's Positive Youth Development approach, the program encourages youth to explore STEM concepts through interactive missions, experiments, puzzles, and problem-solving challenges.
The Agents of STEM activity book and accompanying kit were developed to make STEM learning accessible, engaging, and fun for youth of all ages. Through hands-on activities that promote creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, participants discover how STEM is present in their everyday lives while building confidence and valuable life skills. The resource also includes a comprehensive Leader Guide, ensuring facilitators can confidently deliver activities regardless of their STEM experience.
By helping youth develop curiosity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities, Agents of STEM supports 4-H Canada's commitment to preparing young people for success in an increasingly technology-driven world.
