COVID-19 Update from 4-H Canada

Updated July 3, 2020

As communities across Canada continue to adjust to the unforeseen challenges from the effects of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), 4-H Canada’s priority continues to be the health, safety and security of our youth members, volunteer leaders, families, and the communities 4-H impacts.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 outbreak, 4-H Canada has made the difficult decision to cancel our participation in the U.S. National 4-H Conference this year.

In addition, both Members Forum and Citizenship Congress will be hosted virtually this year, as opposed to in-person as originally intended.

Our staff are supporting the members, leaders, families, and partners impacted by these program changes. Further details on rescheduled programming will follow when they become available.

4-H Canada is continuing to work closely with our provincial 4-H organizations and consulting with public health officials, government partners, and stakeholders to determine our next steps.

As provincial governments slowly begin to allow in-person gatherings and events, local and provincial 4-H programming may begin to resume in accordance with provincial health and safety guidelines. Please contact your provincial 4-H office for more information on the status of 4-H programming where you live.

Our national staff continue to work from home and can be contacted directly by email or at

4-H Canada will continue to communicate any developments and further changes to our programming and operations, and we will share updates to this page.

Thank you for your engagement during this very dynamic and rapidly changing time. We know that the 4-H movement in Canada remains dedicated to working collaboratively to continue nurturing responsible, caring, and contributing youth leaders.
