Jack Pemberton Bursary Winner 2025!
Congratulations to Sophie Cashin, who received this year’s Jack Pemberton Youth Development Bursary! Sophie attended The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto and shared how inspiring the experience was: witnessing world-class competitions, learning from dedicated exhibitors, and seeing the very best in livestock and showmanship. Thanks to the bursary, Sophie is continuing to grow her agricultural knowledge and work toward her future goals in the industry.
What is the Jack Pemberton Development Bursary?
Offered in partnership by The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and 4-H Canada, this $3,000 bursary supports a senior 4-H member with a strong interest in agriculture to attend The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. Honouring the legacy of Jack Pemberton, a Past President and Honourary Life Governor of The Royal, the bursary covers $2,250 for travel expenses and awards $750 toward post-secondary education.
Eligible Applicants
- Canadian 4-H member in good standing
- Will be entering their final year of high school in September 2025
- Have plans for post-secondary education in an agriculture-related program
- Have demonstrated involvement in agriculture
Note: Preference will be given to those who have not attended The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair before.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and judged on the following criteria:
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
- Quality of the responses submitted
- 4-H and agricultural involvement
- Confirmation of current good standing in Canadian 4-H club
