4-H Canada Foundation Board Member Kim McConnell appointed to the Order of Canada

Ottawa, ON – June 30, 2017- The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, announced today that our very own 4-H Foundation board member Kim McConnell and long time 4-H’er was appointed a Member to the Order of Canada for his years of service to his community and country.

McConnell was named along with 99 other accomplished Canadians who have contributed in their way to helping and elevating the status of Canadians at home and abroad. Kim has been giving back to his community since his days in the 4-H McConnell Beef Club, the oldest beef club in Canada, out of Hamiota, Manitoba. He is also the founder of AdFarm, one of the largest agricultural marketing communications firms in North America, has been named to the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame, and also sits on the 4-H Canada Board of Directors.

“All of us here at 4-H are proud of Kim’s recent appointment to the prestigious Order of Canada,” says 4-H Canada CEO Shannon Benner. “He has been a 4-H advocate for most of his life and has always found the time to give back to his community in one way or another. This most recent announcement speaks volumes about his character, leadership, dedication to agriculture, youth and his community.”
